University of Cambridge
Founded in 1209, nearly a century after Oxford University was established, the university was formally incorporated in 1571 and was patterned after those of Oxford and Paris with a traditional course of study based on Latin grammar, rhetoric and logic, arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy.







Cambridge University Botanic Garden
Overview
The Botanic Garden is open to visitors from 10am-4pm - we are delighted to welcome you. Please see our website for details - note that admission will be with pre-booked tickets only. This heritage-listed botanic garden was originally conceived by Charles Darwin's mentor and teacher, Professor John Henslow. The Garden's plant collections today number 8,000+ species from all over the world, displayed within 40 acres of beautifully-landscaped gardens. The Cafe is also open on a takeaway basis, taking card payments only. The Shop and the Plant Hut in the centre of the Garden are both now open, taking card payments only. Please wear a face covering in the Glasshouses, Toilets and Shop. An oasis in the City, this great Garden makes a great day out.

Market Square
Cambridge is a market city, and stalls have been trading at the historic market square in the city centre since the middle ages. From Monday-Sunday, 10am-4pm, you will find stalls selling a wide range of goods including: Street Food, Books, Vinyl, CDs and DVDs Clothes, jewellery and bags Fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and health foods Second hand bikes Garden plants Mobile phones and accessories ...and much more! The market square also hosts a flourishing local food, arts and crafts market on Sundays (10am-4pm), selling organic produce from local farmers and work from some of the region's most talented artists, craftsmen, potters, sculptors and photographers.


Corpus Clock
The Corpus Clock, also known as the Grasshopper clock, is a large sculptural clock at street level on the outside of the Taylor Library at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, in the United Kingdom, at the junction of Bene't Street and Trumpington Street, looking out over King's Parade. It was conceived and funded by John C. Taylor, an old member of the college.
It was officially unveiled to the public on 19 September 2008 by Cambridge physicist Stephen Hawking.[1] The clock was named one of Time's Best Inventions of 2008
